Pressing for freedom : 20 years of world press freedom day
this book discusses the fundamental freedoms publicized by UNESCO over the transformation of the media landscape has created an exciting opportunity for exchange and dialogue, and for sharing knowledge and information. However, it has not yet translated into a stronger respect for fundamental freedom. Today, it has never been more urgent to promote and protect fundamental human rights enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This goal guides all UNESCO actions, both in the real world and in cyberspace. freedom of expression and access to information are important building blocks for democracy, development and dialogue.
