The SAGE handbook of media processes and effects
Given the scope and diversity of the field of media effects, finding an organization scheme for the range of chapters was one of the more challenging aspects of this project. Our thinking on this front was guided by an attempt to group material based on critical issues related to the study of media: conceptualization of key process elements, the societal and individual factors involved in the process of media consumption, the processes and outcomes related to intentional influence, and finally the content and medium issues of prominence nad import.
